In a recent interview with IGN, Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, was asked about possibly bringing superheroes such as Black Panther and Captain Marvel to the big screen - heroes that fans have been asking for a long time. The head of Marvel responded with "absolutely", as he is still adamant on making it a reality. After joking about officially announcing it, Feige revealed fans want it so much, they actually ask him about those two movies more than they ask him about others like Iron Man 4 or even Avengers 3 for that matter! You can view the full interview below.

Talk is cheap, Marvel as most other studios are afraid to feature anything other than a white male lead.
SnapperCarr - 8/18/2014, 7:38 PM
Good. Bring on Black Panther!
Jollem - 8/18/2014, 7:38 PM
hey. howzabout...maybe...just maybe...incredible hulk 2? maybe? how about just mull it over a bit? give it some thought? no? okay, fine. be that way
thewonderer - 8/18/2014, 7:39 PM
which is ironic considering Blade kinda started this whole thing.
COREY6487 - 8/18/2014, 7:39 PM
i think he was jsut wanting to shut that bitch up... people just seem to want them for the sake of diversity. i want them to do the movies they think is right. i would love a captain marvel movie but i would rather be patient and wait for them to fit it into the universe.
Dingbat - 8/18/2014, 7:39 PM
Captain Marvel?

SnapperCarr - 8/18/2014, 7:40 PM
Marvel needs to move on from wise cracking white male leads that are in every single one of their movies. Not saying that is bad, but Black Panther and Captain Marvel could bring a new dynamic to the MCU.

I hope Inhumans is female led as well with Crystal.
staypuffed - 8/18/2014, 7:40 PM
Finally!
staypuffed - 8/18/2014, 7:41 PM
@Dingbat
At first I rolled my eyes, then I laughed.
Shazam is a better name than Captain Marvel anyway [runs and hides]

SnapperCarr - 8/18/2014, 7:41 PM
I think that people should be patient. These guys should only be introduced when the time is right. When it helps with the world-building.
NovaCorpsFan - 8/18/2014, 7:42 PM
@thewonderer
Blade didn't start anything, it was all X-Men. Blade may have been the first but in no way was it the one that revolutionised it all.
TheRationalNerd - 8/18/2014, 7:42 PM
A quality based Black Panther film handled with the same care as Cap: TWS could be phenomenal. I'm just hoping that they really extract more form this film than the perceptions of what people expect Africa to be. There's so much beauty and historical essence within Africa. I wonder who's in talks to direct? Just please don't try to alienate T'Challa's skills. He was pretty cool in A:EMH and it was great to see his character handled on the same level as characters like Iron Man, Cap and Pym.
Marvel1997 - 8/18/2014, 7:42 PM
@Jollem lol

These two NEED to be brought to the MCU + Another Hulk solo and I will be 100% satisfied Feige. But atm something still feels like it's missing IMO
Dingbat - 8/18/2014, 7:43 PM
@staypuffed

I agree. I just like to cause shenanigans.
WinterSoldier33 - 8/18/2014, 7:43 PM
Black panther movie or GTFO
JoJo1982 - 8/18/2014, 7:43 PM
Black Panther is the only piece missing in the avengers franchise

Just make the damn movie already!!!

Your already giving us Inhumans and Dr Strange, so u better not say a black panther movie can't work again
Marvel1997 - 8/18/2014, 7:43 PM
As for Avengers 3...

Brett Ratners "AVENGERS: The Last Stand" ;)
koolaidbag - 8/18/2014, 7:44 PM
I hope they make Captain Marvel be separate from Mrs. Marvel, I really don't want her to be the captain in the MCU.
TheAbaryMan369 - 8/18/2014, 7:44 PM
Black Panther, Captain Marvel, yeah yeah, that's really great... HOWEVER..

BRING ON THE INHUMANS
TheRationalNerd - 8/18/2014, 7:45 PM
@SnapperCarr

Agreed, I don't mind humor but if they make him like "a fish out of water" on the avengers team I'll be totally pissed. This film in NO way should be like the Thor or Iron Man films.
Jollem - 8/18/2014, 7:45 PM
@NovaCorpsFan - i think that may be in part because people on a whole saw it as a vampire flick and didn't realize it was based on a comic book :)

@Marvel1997 - dr. strange?
Marvel1997 - 8/18/2014, 7:46 PM
I know this may be off topic but I just realized... The news/rumor about Doctor Strange not having an origin story just may be true.. In The Winter Soldier why would Jasper Sitwell list strange as a threat to Hydra if he is still only a surgeon? Hmmmm
RedNTheHood - 8/18/2014, 7:46 PM
Black Panther.....?

HE CAN STAY THE [frick] IN!!!
MrBlackjack - 8/18/2014, 7:46 PM
Black Panther 2018, I'm calling it. If I'm wrong I'll give you guys my pot of gold. And @MrCBM56.
JoJo1982 - 8/18/2014, 7:47 PM
@ novacorpfan

Blade cracked open the door for marvel movies (which helped xmen and spidey)

Xmen pretty much made it a widespread thing

Credit where credit is do and that's blade
Marvel1997 - 8/18/2014, 7:49 PM
Yes @Jollem and Doctor Strange. Imo he has one of the greatest origins that would come off amazing on screen idc what anyone says.
Omarvls - 8/18/2014, 7:49 PM
2015
Antman
2016
Dr Strange
2017
Black Panther
2018
Inhumans
Ms Marvel

DrKinsolving - 8/18/2014, 7:49 PM
Awesome, I hope they make some actual announcements SOON.
RedNTheHood - 8/18/2014, 7:51 PM
@Marvel1997

The HYDRA formula could predict the future. Maybe they knew what he was going to become and wanted to kill him before he goth= his magic.
JoJo1982 - 8/18/2014, 7:51 PM
Also it sound like Kevin just hinted big time that iron man 4 is going to happen
Dingbat - 8/18/2014, 7:52 PM
For some reason everyone I talk to doesn't know Blade is a Marvel character. I think Hulk deserves a sequel though. The first one doesn't have great box office numbers at $263,427,551 but if these past couple years have proven anything it's that no matter what marvel puts out people will pay money to see it.
Jollem - 8/18/2014, 7:53 PM
@Marvel1997 - visually amazing and a good character. one of my marvel knights :)
DarthCMPunk - 8/18/2014, 7:53 PM
I have a feeling Marvel has already had these characters in their plans. It's not like some fans are pulling these two characters out of things air it was a few years ago when Feige brought the characters up first
Omarvls - 8/18/2014, 7:53 PM
If Marvel can do Black Panther right

WOW

Remember Batman has a Cave Black Panther has a Nation
TheRationalNerd - 8/18/2014, 7:53 PM
@JoJo1982

It's happening...I just hope they really take their time with it and do Justice all around. I know they can do better!
GinjaNinja - 8/18/2014, 7:58 PM
yes. because so many superhero movies are doing black male leads... They already have a TV show for one, BP is coming soon. What more do yall want?
Barchiel - 8/18/2014, 7:59 PM
The first X-Men movie SUCKED. I was a huge X-Men fan and I didn't even want to watch that trash in the theater.

Blade and Spider-man is what did it.
Jollem - 8/18/2014, 7:59 PM
panther's also one of the knights. he's in the cool kids club
TheRationalNerd - 8/18/2014, 8:00 PM
(Correction) they already have a Netflix series for one. And Luke Cage isn't even as much as a girthy character as T'Challa is. I'm looking forward towards both but I'm more amped for Panther being done Justice!
