I thought the mask they ultimately chose looked really cool. It allowed Hardy to deliver the menace with his eyes.

Why don't they release terrible concept art beforehand? They would get less hate for what they chose.

i can't stand the final design they chose,it was differcult to understand what bane was saying in some of his scenes,only picking up a couple of words from a sentence.

@Marvel
The voice isn't a flaw from the mask per se. Design wise I'd say the mask LOOKS fine, how it transmits sound though, I agree with you

Final design was alright, but I would've liked it resemble Bane at least a little bit.

@ azazel1
i think a full mask would of looked better 4 & 9,look pretty good designs.
when i picture bane in my head,he doesn't sound like that.
is there any character design you don't like,lets take say the new spider-man costume featured in the amazing spider-man.
alot of fans hated that costume but i bet stan lee loved it does that make everyone who disliked it wrong,of course it doesn't.

People really didnt understand him? In the theater i understood every single word, its strange to hear people complain about his voice after they fixed it up

The Bane mask was fine but during the last fight,Batman needed to have ripped it from his face to weaken him enough for a beat down.
Batman did knock a few little nozzles loose but that was silly..how cool would it have been to see the mask off & his face disfigured much like how Two-Face & Joker have facial damage.
Once mask was removed then Bats could deliver the win & not let Catwoman save his ass.
Rises could have & should have been better.

I liked what they chose as the final design. tom delivered a menacing and powerful character the way the portrayed by how he talked and walked. Hardy was no harder to hear than regular people in other movies.

Just saw TDKR was probably the best in the series for me... How it ended almost had me leaving the theatre with a big pile of shit in my pants....

Soooo cool. The Batcave kicked ace in this film! And I love the whole sewer design where Batman and Bane's first fight takes place.

I have to agree with Fusion, Bane's design looks more menacing. Every time I see the wrestling mask Bane all I think about a the mindless thug. Bane was an exception to change after being butchered 80% of the time in media

@sameoldthing that is what my daughter said when we saw the movie thursday night. She said that it would've been better to see Batman at one point break Banes mask to see his face since Bane took off Batman's mask during there first fight.
On a side note is it just me or does the very first Bane picture we got where Hardy his sitting looking back with his back towards us the mask he is wearing is a different design from what we see in the actual film. It looked like a skeleton hand holding upwards where his mouth is at. Go to google and type Bane and go to images settings to see it if you forgot.

They call those sketches concept art? I hope not... Seems like a 6 year old made them.
Apart from that, I think that TDKR's Bane looked awesome! Lindy Hemming knows her stuff. And indeed, Tom Hardy's eyes give a lot of credibility to the menacing character of Bane. He did an exellent job!
TDKR = 11/10

The Bane voice and costume design was horrible. They used parts from things they picked up at army surplus stores. I remember reading that some of the straps on his costume were taken out of tents. Its just a mix of crap rather than good hard thought costume design.

The one they chose is the best IMO (Odd because most concept art looks "better" then the final product) Personally, this is my favorite version of Banes mask! Way more menacing then a wrestling mask.

I liked the movie mask more than the luchador mask he wears in the comics but only because I live on USA/Mexico border and luchador masks have become a very annoying lazy Halloween trend.

I don't know if anyone has said this but the design of banes mask looks similar to the comics. Think of his eyes and skin as the white on banes mask its the same shape. I'm not saying it looks anything like it I'm just saying the design. If that makes any sense
