At the New York Comic-Con director Guillermo del Toro revealed some rather cool Pacific Rim illustrations from his personal notebook. The scanned images were photographed by flixist, and posted online them a week ago. There was some confusion about what the images were of, so Guillermo on his fansite added some descriptions.

"Not Jaegers - GAS MASKS for Black Market Kaiju Scavengers. A scavenger walking away with
two cuticles on his back. The bones of a fallen kaiju." - Guillermo del Toro

"Mako (Rinko Kikuchi) in a rain of Ashes as a kid. Mako in her military garb in the rain (short haircut). - " - del Toro

I also included images of the suits that were on display at NYCC.

SYNOPSIS - When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Pacific Rim is scheduled for release on July 12, 2013. The cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, Max Martini, Rob Kazinsky, Clifton Collins Jr. and Diego Klattenhoff.

Watch Sons of Anarchy and Greenstreet Hooligans, whether the movie rips off Gundam etc, Charlie Hunnam carries any project he is attached too, easily one of the most talented and underrated actors. And yeah, I like Guillermo, call it a fanboy crush or not, his taste in costume designers/ set/ special effects has never disappointed.

Charlie is great in 'Anarchy', but 'Greenstreet'?! He's shocking. His mockney accent was hideous. Even Elijah Wood was more believable as a football hooligan.

Love Del Toro. Both Hellboy movies were ace. I want this to be good bit I have a feeling it will suck. It'll look good, but will suck (like Tea's missus no doubt).

Looks awesome.

Can't wait to see the film, had no idea charlie day was in it. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of my favorite shows.
AlexDeLarge87 - 10/24/2012, 1:39 AM
This sucks. I wanna see some monsters and robots already.
But i guess Del Toro wants to give his final touches for the monsters and robots before he gives us anything.
